Your Privacy Matters
At Temptations Food Court, we keep things simple: we only collect the details we need to take and fulfil your order. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use our ordering website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
When you place an order through our website, you provide:
- Your name — so we can identify and call out your order.
- Your phone number — so we can reach you about your order (and, for delivery, confirm the fee and arrangements).
- Your email address — so we can send your order confirmation.
- Delivery address — only if you choose delivery, so we can bring your order to you.
- Order details — the items, quantities, any table number, and any notes you add (for example, allergy information you choose to share).
We do not take card or Mobile Money payments on this website, so we do not collect or store payment-card details. Payment happens in person or is arranged by phone for delivery.
Our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address and request times) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use this to build profiles of you.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you give us only to:
- Take, prepare, and fulfil your order;
- Send you an order confirmation by email;
- Contact you about your order — for example, to confirm a delivery fee, ask a question, or let you know it is ready;
- Keep a record of orders for our day-to-day operations;
- Meet our legal, accounting, and food-safety obligations, and resolve any disputes.
We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing emails from this ordering service.
3. Cookies
Our public ordering website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Your cart is stored locally in your own browser so your selections are remembered as you browse — this stays on your device. A secure session cookie is used only on our private staff dashboard (not on the customer ordering pages).
4. Who We Share It With
We share your information only with the service providers that make the ordering service work, and only as needed:
- Order records (Google Sheets / Google Workspace): your order details are stored in a private spreadsheet we use to manage orders.
- Email delivery (Resend): used to send your order confirmation email.
- Website hosting:our website and its order processing run on a hosting provider's infrastructure.
These providers process information on our behalf and are expected to protect it. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.
5. Where Your Information Is Processed
The providers above are international services, so your information may be stored or processed on servers located outside Ghana (for example, in the United States or Europe), depending on where the provider operates. Where information is transferred outside Ghana, we rely on the provider's contractual terms and security measures to keep it protected to a standard consistent with this policy and Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
6. How Long We Keep It
We keep order information only as long as we need it, and apply the following retention periods:
- Order records: kept for up to 12 months from the date of the order, then deleted or anonymised. We may keep an order longer only where needed to resolve an ongoing dispute or to meet a legal obligation.
- Financial / tax records: where an order forms part of our accounting records, it is kept for as long as Ghanaian tax and accounting law requires (which may be longer than 12 months).
- Confirmation emails: retained by our email provider in line with their standard retention, then removed.
We routinely remove order records that have passed the 12-month window — deleting them or stripping the details that identify you, so the data can no longer be linked to you.
7. How We Protect It
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information — including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access-controlled order records, and limiting access to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take protecting your details seriously.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Consistent with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it;
- Tell us if you object to how we are using it.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. Note that we may need to keep some information to meet legal obligations (for example, accounting records).
9. Complaints & Data Breaches
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will take prompt steps to contain it and will notify the Data Protection Commission and any affected customers where required by law.
10. Children's Privacy
Our ordering service is intended for adults placing food orders. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always the one posted on this page, with the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
